Nürburgring – Mühlner Motorsport showcases its full range of capabilities at the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race: The #123 Porsche 911 GT3 R finishes in a strong sixth place overall and third in the SP9 Pro-Am class. Meanwhile, the #904 fought for the Cup 2 podium right up to the final lap and finished fourth.
Six hours on the Nordschleife, 1.5 times the points in the Porsche Endurance Trophy, and a large field of entrants: NLS7 on August 1 was one of the most important races of the second half of the season.
For Mühlner Motorsport, the race was not just about the battle for the Cup 2 championship. With the #123 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo26, the team also brought its international GT3 program back to the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Martin Rump, Ben Bünnagel, and Noah Nagelsdiek started the #123 from 13th on the grid and established themselves firmly in the top ten as the six-hour race progressed. With consistent pace, a solid strategy, and precise work in the pits, the trio fought their way further and further up the field.
Going into the final lap, the #123 was right in the thick of the battle for fifth place. In the end, the Mühlner Porsche crossed the finish line in an outstanding sixth place overall, securing third place in the SP9 Pro-Am class at the same time. After 41 race laps, the total race time was 6:10:08.120 hours.
At the same time, the #904 was competing for particularly valuable points in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring. Due to the extended six-hour race distance, the NLS7 was scored with a 1.5 multiplier. Nico Bastian, Joshua Bednarski, Tim Scheerbarth, and Ivan Peklin shared driving duties in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
After six hours, the battle for the final Cup 2 podium spot turned into a real sprint to the checkered flag. Nico Bastian put massive pressure on the third-place #901 in the final stages. After 40 laps, the #904 was just 1.587 seconds behind third place. As a result, Mühlner Motorsport finished NLS7 in fourth place in the Cup 2 class and 17th overall.
This result also underscores just how close the competition in Cup 2 has become. In this race—which counts 1.5 times toward the standings—Mühlner Motorsport’s direct rivals secured important bonus points, which is why every single point becomes even more crucial for Mühlner Motorsport in the remaining races of the season.
But the race day also sends a clear sporting message: Mühlner Motorsport can compete for top positions on two fronts simultaneously on the Nordschleife—with the 911 GT3 R in the overall standings and with the 911 GT3 Cup in one of the toughest one-make cup fields in endurance racing.
All eyes are now on September. Two more NLS races await in quick succession—and with them, the next major points battle in the fight for the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring.
